Rachel Cousins

Rachel Cousins has established herself as one of Atlantic Canada’s most promising recording artists, winning over fans and collecting new ones, one compelling composition at a time.

Steeped in the traditions of music from her native Newfoundland, she released “This Fire” in 2017, written with local luminaries such as Chris LeDrew, award-winning writer/producer Chris Kirby, and CGT semi finalist Kellie Loder.

Constantly featured alongside key creatives in her community, her most notable collaboration was anchored by Alan Doyle. “Songs From Home” showcased Rachel alongside The Fortunate Ones, The Ennis Sisters, and The Once.

Her foray into pop was driven by “Let Go”, spearheading her journey into the world of film and television. Rachel’s self-titled debut EP was the catalyst, with repertoire ranging from ballads to beat driven tracks that landed her music in the likes of Wynonna Earp, Hudson and made-for-tv films such as The Art Of Falling In Love.

No secret in her home province, Rachel has been nominated for six Music NL awards, winning their Pop Artist of The Year prize twice. Additional accolades include an ECMA nomination and a 2021 Top 10 finish as part of the CBC’s “Searchlight” competition. Rachel is also a graduate of the Honey Jam program.

Constantly creating, she has just completed “Aura”, a 9 track journey of self discovery and introspection that provides fans with a look into the journal of a creative powerhouse.

You can hear her new single, “For Myself” on all streaming platforms.
